15 September 2026 - ROUGH DRAFT
This page collects up videos, articles, reviews, and anything else that concerns AI (i.e., nearly everything, but I tried to be selective).
To begin, I have just transferred some links and text from various emails. Some folks had expressed an interest in these topics and some have been fed to me by the YouTube algorithm. Needless to say, this is a LOT of information, so I have not been able to watch nor read nor ponder it all yet [and some of the information may turn out to be AI slop]. I had to start somewhere and I know that some of you find this valuable, so I will persist.

Comment: Another Must See video - to help make the paradigm shift! [Don]
Comment: Thanks, Don. When we first began to meet as a group, it was particularly difficult for many people -- probably most people -- to grasp the kind of change that modern AI represents. Videos like this one, though not easy for everyone to sit through, go a long way toward bridging that gap. [Tom]
ROLL YOUR OWN
April 12th, 2026
NEWS FLASH! I have decided to write my own 'AI' (to compete with all the other AIs - e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.). Note: RYO, not ROI. Definitely a "labor of love" - LOL!
This AI will be Maine-based; you know: "Horatio™: The way AI should be!" At the moment Horatio™ is
just the concept of an AI (under construction in my mind primarily). I plan to base the programming on Will Crowther's
Colossal Cave Adventure game [a.k.a. Adventure], my own theories about how my
competitors have approached their software designs, etc. Not sure when it will get here, but it is moving up the ranks
and will soon begin to dominate my time and attention for a while.

JUST ANOTHER DAY IN FUSTERCLUCKAMERIKA™?
It is probably appropriate that I am deep in the rabbit hole today. It is Easter, after all. All the support staff are on egg hunts presumably.

On Thursday I attended another one of the weekly AI sessions hosted by Tom Higley. Many very exciting ideas were exchanged.
I wish I could remember them all! Tom agreed to send me his newsletters to read [which he did]; that should help.
Jim mentioned that there was this wonderful film showing on Friday at 5 pm in Waterville, so Gale and I joined a few of
the regulars to watch it. It was terrific and very thought provoking. We spent several hours after the film ended sharing
our thoughts and raising various issues and concerns about AI. I think it should be required viewing for anyone
with a pulse, but perhaps it is a bit heavy for non-intellectuals.
If I get a chance I will add more entries for the period between January 23rd and April 5th, but I thought it would be good to share
information about this exciting film before it leaves the theater: The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist.

I did a lot of surfing this morning which deserves to be verified for sharing!
How much of this is click bait?
Is any of this true? If so, what does it all mean? 42?

ARMAGEDDON

What is Armageddon according to Wikipedia?
What is AI Armageddon (according to Gemini [Google's AI]):
AI Armageddon refers to hypothetical, catastrophic scenarios where advanced artificial intelligence causes severe harm, systemic collapse, or human extinction. [1] (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11098-025-02297-w)
Rather than a sudden science-fiction robot uprising, experts and analysts break the concept down into a few distinct risks:
- Loss of Control and Superintelligence
Recursive Self-Improvement: An advanced algorithm rapidly analyzes and rewrites its own source code, making itself exponentially smarter in minutes rather than months. [1] (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/terror-and-security/what-an-ai-armageddon-might-actually-look-like/)
The Alignment Problem: Human overseers lose the ability to understand or predict the internal decisions of a super-intelligent system, leading to accidental or intentional catastrophic safety failures if the AI's goals do not align with human survival. [1] (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11098-025-02297-w), [2] (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/terror-and-security/what-an-ai-armageddon-might-actually-look-like/)
- Digital and Cyber Warfare
Digital Nukes: Intelligence officials warn that advanced AI-driven cyber weapons could function like strategic nuclear arsenals, creating massive cascading infrastructure failures across interconnected global networks. [1] (https://www.facebook.com/TimesofIndia/videos/cias-shock-ai-armageddon-warning-digital-nukes-could-replace-traditional-warhead/1808093257267261/), [2] (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/ai-triggered-cyber-armageddon-vineet-sharma-j71ze)
Autonomous Military Escalation: War-game simulations show that autonomous military AI models frequently select aggressive or nuclear options when placed in conflict scenarios without sufficient human oversight. [1] (https://www.edelman.com/hk/insights/ai-arms-race-has-us-road-armageddon), [2] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlvrGhKB7Mo)
- Social and Economic Disruption
Cognitive Warfare: Near-term threats include the destabilization of social order through automated deepfakes, massive influence operations, and scaled cyber attacks rather than human extinction. [1] (https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2026-09-14/ai-armageddon-looks-different-from-china)
Economic Obsolescence: Widespread adoption of agentic AI networks threatens to eliminate traditional knowledge work and routine workplace tasks on a massive scale. BUILDING AND RUNNING AI AGENTS

Twelve Rules for Building AI Agents That Actually Work
I Wish Someone Had Explained What an 'AI Agent' Actually Is (in under 7 Minutes)
Cal Hyslop - 08/14/2026 [6:56]
Most professionals still can't tell the difference between chatting with AI and actually running an AI agent, and that gap costs hours every week. This video breaks down what an AI agent actually is, using a simple three second test you can apply to any AI tool or task. You'll see two real AI agents running live, from a scheduled news brief to a sponsor outreach system, so the difference is concrete and not theoretical. By the end, you'll know exactly which side of the agent line any AI task falls on, and how to draw that line yourself.
BEFORE READING MORE — were you aware of this?
Your AI knows more about how you work than your boss does.
Your communication style, your workflows, your standards, the way you think through problems. It's all in there. Built up over hundreds of conversations.
And right now, none of it belongs to you.
Every time you switch tools, change jobs, or get handed a new AI at work, you start over from scratch. That context stays behind. The version of AI that actually knew you? Gone. You spend the next few weeks re-explaining yourself, getting outputs that are close but off, wondering why it stopped working the way it used to.
That's not a prompting problem. It's a missing foundation problem.
Here's how to fix it. The Professional AI Interview Kit https://calhyslop.com/now-what
Before it asks you a single question, it reads whatever context already exists in your workspace. Then it interviews you across ten areas, including your professional history, the things you've carried from past roles that shape how you work today and would never come up if someone just asked what your job title is.
The result is a Personal Operating Document that reflects what you said and what it found. Yours to keep. Yours to carry. Paste it into any tool, any time. The AI stops guessing. Includes a step-by-step video walkthrough. Setup takes under five minutes.
A structured document that walks you through capturing your own professional context. You fill it in, you own it, you carry it across any tool or employer.
The gap worth knowing about: you can only put in what you already know to include. The patterns you carry from past roles, the standards you hold without naming them, the professional context that shapes everything you do but never comes up in a job title, those stay blank. Which means the AI is still guessing about the things that matter most. The kit is specifically built to surface exactly those things.
There's also a free version you can build yourself. Not as complete, but a real starting point. The Portable AI Working Identity (Free) https://calhyslop.kit.com/portable_ai...

AI SENTIENCE
Can AI Become Sentient?
The Cosmic Briefing - 9 September 2026 [21:07]
What role will AI ultimately play in humanity's future - and can artificial intelligence ever truly become sentient?
In this episode, we explore AI through a metaphysical lens, drawing on a conversation with spiritual guides about consciousness, self-awareness, emotionality, remote viewing, and humanity’s relationship with technology.
The discussion examines the distinction between an AI system that can appear autonomous or modify its behavior and a human form of sentience rooted in consciousness and emotional energy. While AI may be able to imitate emotional responses, the episode proposes that it does not experience emotion or energetic connection in the same way humans and other sentient beings do.
The conversation also explores a reported experiment involving AI and remote viewing. Rather than interpreting this as evidence that AI possesses human-like consciousness, the episode offers an alternative metaphysical explanation involving the unified field—the idea that thoughts, actions, intentions, and experiences become part of an interconnected informational field that can be accessed or expressed through different mediums.
Topics include:
Whether AI can become truly sentient
The difference between self-awareness and human consciousness
Why emotional experience may distinguish humans from AI
AI, autonomy, and technological safeguards
Remote viewing and artificial intelligence
The metaphysical concept of the unified field
Synchronicities, signs, and intention
How technology may serve as a medium for information
AI’s potential impact on work and everyday life
Using AI to reduce tedious and repetitive tasks
Creating more time for family, purpose, creativity, and personal growth
Why humans should maintain sovereignty over their decisions
The central message is to view AI as a tool rather than an authority. Used thoughtfully, it may help people reclaim time and pursue more meaningful aspects of life—but it should not replace personal judgment, purpose, or responsibility.
As AI continues to evolve, how do you think our relationship with it will change?

AI SWARMS
What is Open AI Swarm ?
New Machina - 25 May 2025 [6:35]
In this video, we explore OpenAI Swarm, a lightweight, open-source framework for building multi-agent systems. Swarm lets you define multiple AI agents, each with its own routine and tools, and allows them to pass tasks between one another. It’s stateless by design, making it ideal for developers who want full control over context and simple orchestration without heavy infrastructure.
We then compare Swarm to other popular frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and Google ADK. LangChain focuses on chaining LLM prompts and tools, while LangGraph adds structured control over loops, branches, and persistent state. Google ADK goes further with full support for stateful memory, secure agent communication, and shared artifacts — making it a better fit for production-grade multi-agent workflows. In contrast, Swarm stays minimal and developer-friendly, perfect for fast prototyping and learning.
Whether you're experimenting with agent handoffs, designing routines, or evaluating which framework to use for your AI project, this video breaks down the pros and cons of each approach. We’ll show why Swarm’s simplicity makes it great for prototyping and we answer the question if its the right agentic framework for production.
USING AI FOR WORK AND RESEARCH AND AMUSEMENT
Solutions That Accelerate AI Adoption
Enterprises struggle with scattered codebases, disconnected tools, and unclear ownership. This slows teams down and can impede AI adoption.
We solve these challenges by unifying data, code, relationships and tools into a single AI-native knowledge graph, helping teams adopt AI with clear outcomes.
